Proyectos de Investigación

El objetivo general es comprender la evolución de los genes y genomas. Las principales líneas de interés incluyen la evolución de genes localizados en los tres compartimientos celulares (núcleo, mitocondria y cloroplastos), la incidencia y los mecanismos de la transferencia horizontal de genes, la evolución de familias de genes, la interacción molecular entre el núcleo y la mitocondria, las relaciones evolutivas de los eucariotas y la sistemática molecular.

Las líneas de investigación incluyen:

Evolución genómica en plantas

  • Transferencia horizontal de genes entre angiospermas, incluyendo plantas parásitas.
  • Estudios sobre la dinámica y recombinacion de genomas mitocondriales en cíbridos (híbridos citoplasmáticos).
  • Análisis bioinformático de secuencias de genomas mitocondriales y cloroplásticos (next-generation sequencing) de angiospermas.
  • Evolución de genes de resistencia en especies de papas silvestres (Solanum spp.).

Taxonomía y evolución molecular de nematodos del nudo

  • Estudios de sistemática molecular en nematodos fitoparásitos.
  • Caracterización y análisis bioinformático de genomas mitocondriales de especies del género Meloidogyne.
  • Evaluación de la resistencia al ataque de nemátodos del nudo en papas silvestres.
